How easy is it to remove the Gear Stick Knob from a 2010 MK3.5.
Assume its just unscrews, but it seems very tight, is there thread lock on the screw thread when its fitted in the factory.

It unscrews, maybe tight as it’s never been off before.
Hi, I recently removed an aluminium one from my MK2.5 and it was tight all the way, it left behind a black plastic adapter screwed tightly to the actual steel lever, this plastic adapter had a plain unthreaded portion at the top on which I used molegrips to remove it and it to was tight all the way, screwed on my new rosewood one which was dead easy and looks great fitted a rosewood cover to the handbrake lever after removing the alloy one by using molegrips with a bit of cloth to protect it it took a fair twist as it had double sided tape inside (another member suggested I use a hairdryer to soften the adhesive first which if I hadn’t used molegrips I would have needed to do ). Also I fitted 4 chrome heater vents which fit perfectly and look great and a chrome handbrake button which for me altogether gives a much classier feel without being over the top, just got to fit the 3 chrome instrument bezels + chrome side marker bezels and the dressing up will be done for me. Sorry for rambling on and going off topic.
Dave
Thanks for the info chaps, much appreciated.
