Removing the Mini CD blank from a standard 2008 NC radio

So we’re looking to try and remove the blanking plate that covers the hole were a Mini CD Player would fit in/ on a standard fit radio. Its the long rectangular plate with the words ‘Multi Function Audio System’ written on it. Have had a gentle try with a small screw driver to see if it would just ‘pop’ out but it seems to resist a fair bit… wary of damaging it as it will need to go back in place.
I’ve attached a photo…has anyone any experience of good ideas?

There are 4 clips on the back of it and the only way I can see to release them is from the back.

The stereo is pretty easy to remove and replace in order to access the clips from the back

Ah… so it wont ‘pop’ out from the front…in which case I’ll wait until I have a bluetooth
streamer to fit behind the radio as well…many thanks !
