Seeing this thread reminded me that I hadn’t changed my OC sticker yet. Took a few seconds to get one of the corners up enough to pull, then the sticker peeled off without any issues.
I can recommend isopropyl alcohol though for removing residues etc - not too harsh a chemical, just use with a soft cloth and get rubbing
I’ve never had a problem with removing the sticker, gently lift a corner and peel, but then when I do it the car is comfortably snug and warm in the garage.
I’ve just been using “Sticky Stuff Remover” (Halfords, B&Q, Homebase etc) on an internal door at home. Worked a treat. Stickers were on a painted panel, put there when I was my son’s bedroom - 15 - 20 years ago! They were a right mix of materials. Works a treat - and on blobs of blu-tack on the door and on painted wallpaper!
Works even better on glass. Use a cheap (65p) plastic scraper to get the dissolved goo off.
People seem to have different experiences removing these stickers. Could it depend on how much use - amount of exposure to sunlight they get ?
Anyway, the circular idea is great. Can’t cost any more.
My sticker is now def part of the car have never seen anything so permanently stuck on,my car does not live outside permanently in garage,my solution i think is the rumour of the Mark4.5 launching in sept,so think i may buy one of those sticker problem then solved,i have been very pleased with my mark 4,but understand there may be a larger engine being launched[181 B.H.P]
