Hello,
I need to replace the front Windscreen I have 2 hair lines Shape on the driver side , my insurance is with AA and they using AUTO WINDSCREENS does anyone know if they any good? I have a soft top do they need to remove the inside plastic frame with the two screws where the second part of the mechanism is for the soft top? I have read some reviews for that glass company and are not very good so I am worried if am honest. Does anyone know please,
Many Thanks
We used them at times at a main dealer . Some times there work was not that good leaks or broken trim. I’m not sure about now but there fitters went on a one week corse then they where on there own.
Wouldn’t have them near mine.
Oh God… any ideas who I should use I had a feeling there are not good so many bad reviews I don’t mind paying private.
Any ideas around Berkshire I live in Windsor or near Slough , do you know if they need to remove that plastic panel from inside to remove the glass ? You know I rang Mazda in Guildford they told me they are not trained to fit a glass.
There is no need to remove the plastic panel. These screens are bonded in . They use a tool like a cheese wire to cut the old one out… No idea for a fitter as i.m on the south coast. Most main dealers use Auto glass…
Used them through my insurance company when it cracked.
Actually went beyond customer service as bought a windscreen which was not specific for my car.
Reordered and fitted and perfect ever since.
Each review will be perhaps different.
At least I don’t have to worry for them removing the panel. yes Auto glass are good but my insurance AA dealing with Auto windscreens , but thank you for this information…
Autoglass or Autowindscreens ? Auto Glass are more popular but yes as you said each review is different …
Just checked it was Autoglass.
Apologies if I misunderstood your post.
Is fine , thank you for checking .
I recommend you get a Windscreen Cowl Leak Repair Kit from mx5parts because invariably the windscreen fitter won’t replace them and if you don’t you will more than likely get a leak in your passenger footwell (search “scuttle grommets” in this forum). Also recommend to put sealant round the new grommets when fitting.

Just to add they will need to remove wipers and the scuttle panel.
I can only say Autoglass did a good job on my daily driver. Just left them to it, done through insurance. I contacted them for fitting, they preferred to come out to my home although we have a local fitting centre in the city. They just dealt with everything insurance wise I think like most do but just checked who insured me before booking the fitting.
II think Autoglass are better but my insurance using Auto-windscreens lets see what happens I have booked the Caron the 13th
wow … I will order them now thank you for showing this photo
