Replace r/h seat with l/h seat on Mk2

This may be a dumb question?

If the driver’s side seat is worn, can I replace this with a much less worn passenger seat from another car?

Are they identical?

And is it a straightforward job?

What about the backrest adjustment, and can’t quite remember how they go but what about the seatbelt stalk. Won’t they be on the wrong side.

You’re probably right. I wasn’t sure whether the various bits can be removed to leave the basic seat and then reattach to the replacement seat.
