RF Launch Edition Badge?

Make sure you have the manual override kit for the roof too

You could try Stuart Stringer, customer relations manager, at mmukassistance@mazdaeur.com

Met him at the UK launch of the RF Mazda put on for the club. He was helpful with an issue I had.

What extremely helpful people you all are

Rubber bungs - I think they’re there.  Grey ‘ovalish’ things.  Whatever; I can’t see any holes.

Yes - I do have the emergency ‘close my top’ kit - about the only thing I got that actually did belong to the car.

Thanks for the e-mail address.  At minimum I’d like a checklist of what I should actually have.  How a dealer chooses to behave towards a customer is up to them I guess.

I’m going to have to get someone to look at the car anyhow.  Couple of problems:

‘Infotainment’ system spuriously reboots and/or goes dim with just the Mazda logo.  Something wrong.

Sometimes when pulling away the power just vanishes resulting in a Hop-a-Long-Cassidy (you need to be of an age to understand that) start.  These aren’t rapid starts so it shouldn’t be electronic gizmos kicking in.  Seems more prone when ‘hill assist’ is active.

Still love it though

Just an update for anyone interested.

Stuart Stringer proved to be most helpful.

They sent me a bottle of Champagne to soften the blow and agreed to pay for an additional PDI and valet by my local dealer.

I had a reversing camera fitted at the same time which makes reversing much more ‘comfortable’.

It’s now no longer a diesel!!  And it also has its LE badge (not very impressive).

Still loving the car, though the ‘Infotainment/Mazda Connect’ system seems flaky to say the least.

Mazda Connect occasionally re-boots for no obvious reason and on one occasion the reversing camera stopped working until not only had the car been switched off but had a rest for a day!

Another 30 or 40 bhp would be nice. Particularly when powering out of bends it seems a bit gutless at times.  But then, if I upped the power it’d be defeating the object of the car really.  I’ve had quick cars but you can’t play with them (if you want to keep your license).  So I chose the MX-5  because it’s not quick.  No pleasing some people huh?  Hmmm - a nitrous button would be nice

Anyhow, thanks for all your help and you can blame me for all the nice weather we’ve been having.  Since getting the car it’s been top down most of the time.  This baby attracts sunshine

All good then - well, apart from the neurotic Infotainment system, which seems to be a common problem.
