Road tax nd

I have read that there is going to be a substantial increase in road tax from April but I can’t find out what the increase will be. does anyone know what the increase will be for a 2 litre nd

From what I can see - cars registered after 1st april 2017 and having a retail value under 40k will be £190

I have just paid £180.00 for the full year up £15.00 from last year

That goes up by another £10 on 1st April 2024

A pre March 2017 ND 2.0 would now be £255 for 12 months, up from £240. So not sure that represents a ‘substantial increase’ ?

Post 2017 it would now be £190, up from £180.

A £1 increase is too much when you look at the state of the roads now in this country.

Totally agree. But mostly it’s council tax that is used for highway maintenance.

If only Vehicle Excise Duty was actually used! What a crazy idea…

Completely agree considering a 2006 2.0 Sport is now £385 a year VED

Don’t get me started. Council tax revenues must be monstrous whilst infrastructure is crumbling and councils are going skint all over.
