I need to check - my ND is a contract hire from new in March 2022. Will the Mazda Roadside Assistance that comes with new vehicles come to a car with a flat battery due to cold weather and lack of use?
Not sure.
BUT - you would need to check if it covers Home Start
Some policies only kick in when you are a few miles from home.
If it does cover home start - it should cover a flat battery.
Ring them and check - 0800 777 179
The cover is Home and Roadside assistance in the UK, so you’re covered for ‘at home’. I can’t see why a flat battery wouldn’t be in scope, but a quick call will confirm.
Just say it won’t start,no need to tell them why !
Yup - called them. Wanted to make sure car was listed with them, which it is. And covered for home or away.
Maybe of use to someone! I use Green Flag. Cover for my NA, my day to day 5 door hatch and my motorhome, all on one policy for a very reasonable price. The 5 door and the motorhome are covered for all of Europe.
I stopped using green flag because they didn’t cover any vehicle over 16 yrs old. So my NA was out, have they changed now?
Hi Mick AP Your comment prompted me to double check and yes Green Flag have covered my 1992
build (93reg) Mk1 NA and renewed my cover in August last year in writing. Not sure how long I have been with them but it is at least four years. Initially they gave me all Europe cover but I deleted that on the MX last year as I do not intend to take it abroad again. But it is still covered for UK.
It’s the level of cover chosen as to whether or not they cover 15+ year old vehicles.
Good point. I think mine is roadside for the MX. If it fails at home I would expect to fix it myself.
