 I pulled the room fuse(Mk1) on mine last night,and she started on the button,so god knows what that 10amp is doing connected to the ECU???,i even checked this out with Andrew at autolink and Carl at CBS Autos before pulling it…who knows???i feel a shout out for AT coming on{#emotions_dlg.thumb}

The ROOM fuse supplies back-up power to the PCM. The ROOM fuse is removed during transit from the factory and is installed on PDI. The engine will start without the ROOM fuse installed. With the ROOM fuse removed, when the ign is off there is no drain on the battery.

I think that “room” is a poor translation from the Japanese word for “cabin”. Primary function of the “room” fuse (apart from ECU memory keep-alive) is to protect the live feeds to the interior (cabin) lights and stereo.

You might need to reset your base idle speed if you have pulled the room fuse.

Thanks nigel
