Rough idle after new timing belt

Had new timing belt fitted, when mechanic took old one off said timing wasn’t set correctly,
So new one put on and he set timing correctly
On starting car she idles around 500 and just cuts out every time
Any ideas what’s happening and what should do please

If it ran ok prior to the belt being changed it sounds like the timing is now not set correctly…

For me its a return pronto to the mechanic who carried out the job… no joy ? get a second opinion.

Yes she ran fine before

I’ve contacted him he said he’s going to ring Mazda tomorrow for advice

you don’t need to do any troubleshooting, just return it saying it does not work.

but at a guess, they have ‘corrected’ the valve timing improperly.
