RSPB Minsmere + Fish & Chips 9th April

So impressed by this section I almost thought about moving to Norfolk😀
Everything is straight lines and mostly grey so I’m staying where I am. Before you beat me up I spent a week at Clay-next-the-sea and all my prejudice about the east coast of England is well researched.
I’d love to join you but I’m a day away.
Hope you have a great day👍

Hi David,
Please add us to your mid week run to RSPB and fish and chips run on Wednesday 9th April.
Simon and Tina.

Simon and Tina,
Welcome and I will add you to the list, see you at B&Q South, off Hall Road, Norwich.

Hi David
Could you please put us down on the cancellation list. We weren’t able to respond earlier due to being abroad. However, even if we can’t get into Minsmere we can join you on the run and then make our way back via Dunwich and Southwold.
Thanks
Jerry and Wendy

Jerry & Wendy,
There’s certainly room for you for fish & chips, cafe is ok with numbers. The main issue will be size of group in bird hides but we can divide up, I’ll see what the RSPB say be a shame to leave you out but I was sensitive to other visitors using the hides. Keep your eye on this thread. D.

Jerry & Wendy,
RSPB are ok so shall we see you at the start in Norwich or at Minsmere?
I have added you to ‘the list’. D.

That’s great, thanks David. See you at B&Q
Jerry.

Few pics of our visit to RSPB Minsmere. Disappointing weather with cold wind and overcast but no rain. This I thought would not make for either good bird spotting or for birds to be out and about, how wrong this proved to be. After coffee on arrival we headed off around the reserve stopping off at bird hides, a very quick look at the sea, a fair bit of walking and finally a short drive to Dunwich for fish and chips. Let’s get the f&c out the way first. Lovely haddock & chips, massive fish, reserved table for us all together - great.
Ok now the birds. Well early on we spotted the RSPB’s logo bird the Avocet - always elegant. Shelduck, Shoveler, Barnacle Goose, Dunlin, Knott & Redshank to mention a few. Stars of the show were; Black-tailed Godwits (mini murmuration and only ID’d after some confusion), Swallows (plural so Summer has arrived), Marsh Harriers and Bitterns (some three seen flying)!
