Rubber mud-flaps for Mk3

Hi all

Does anyone know where I can source a full set ( all 4 corners ) of rubber mud-flaps…not the one that require painting .

Thank you…

You can buy those anywhere, there isn’t a specific set for a 5 that I’m aware off.

Allergic to PVC ?

£83 for those ? Really?

I paid £80 for these, plus the paint and a little time. I know that they don’t appear for sale very often, there’s no comparison. I would not fit those to my car.

The OP specifically seeks " rubber items " , rather than the ones you need to paint ;

I merely indicate the existence of a “PVC alternative”.

Matron will be along with my medication shortly :flushed:

Are you sure those flaps aren’t for an HGV? I’m with The MXican on this. I opted not to paint; personally I like the satin-black naked finish on the Mazda ones. I think they make nice accents with the other black bits - aerial, wipers, & window trims. And they’re a bit more subtle. Each to their own, of course!

Mud flaps are not currently high on my to do list. Personally don’t much care for the traditional flappy numbers and then there’s form over function. Were I to go for your and The MXicans’ choice I wouldn’t need to paint; well not straight away. Max ‘Sparkling’ Black init :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
Highjack over ?

These are the only alternatives to the plastic OEM ones (at ~100£ an axel) I’ve found so far.

Seems a bit cheaper directorly from their website with options for other materials: MAZDA MX5 MK3 2006 BLACK MUDFLAPS

I did email them asking if they had more pictures of them installed and what the installation process is like but never heard back. Still on the fence if I should order them.

That’s because they are “Universal mudflaps”!
You get what you pay for.
If you want the Ford Escort Mexico look, buy them. It all depends on the look you want for your pride & joy.
For me, get it right first time & stop wasting money on things that just aren’t right?

I’ve three chums who all put universal flaps on their 5’s while I have the oe Mazda moulded ones. There’s no doubt their choice does a better job of stopping keek getting flung rear wards, but they’re as ugly as…….

" Bespoke Custom Design Mudflaps to fit:
MAZDA MX5 Mk3 (2006+)
Designed and made to order here in the UK by us ‘The rallyflapZ Team’"

Not sure that counts as universal.

If you’d like to share where/how you got 4x OEM plastic ones for £80 im all ears. Everywhere I’ve seen sell them ~£100 for 2. At that point its not “you get what you pay for” its about about how far you’re willing to bend over. For both the Audi’s I’ve driven off the show room, OEM mud guards fitted cost 80-100£ all round.

Very happy you’re happy with expensive bits of plasic but thats not what was asked by OP.

On a weekly basis my 5 is on single track roads with grass in the middle and badly maintained B roads with mud banks, thank you for weighing in @Davy_F - they might not look as good but if they work better, it’ll help stop the rest of my car looking like a muddy eye sore plus I can get two tanks of fuel with the savings😄

As I said previously, they don’t come up for sale very often. I got them from the famous auction site.

It’s your car, so do as you wish.

Thanks to everyone for your input…I’ve managed to get 2 new front OEM spats for £60, so still searching for 2 rears now if anyone wants to part with same.
