Rust protection for Mk4

I’ve had a 2016 plate mk4 for just over a year.  I love the car & plan to keep for many years. I live in Evesham, Worcs. I’d like to have the underbody, door cavities, etc. treated to resist rusting.  I favour the use of Dinitrol products as I have found them excellent in the past.  I have found a company (‘Preserve & Protect,’ approved by Dinitrol) with excellent reviews who have done at least 2 mk4’s & I’d be very happy to use them.  Their video shows an extremely thorough job which takes 3-4days.  The problem is that they are located in Johnston (west of Glasgow).  I’m prepared to spend the £550 quoted but this is just too far away & I also couldn’t take advantage of their annual foc inspection.  Can anyone recommend a company in the Midlands that is known to do a similarly comprehensive treatment, within 50-100 miles of Evesham?

Maybe watch this space?..

But it is Waxoyl - don’t know if they offer Dinitrol.

I’d be interested in this. Cleaning the underside of the car after I first purchased it, I noticed a build up of mud and road grit, on the inner tops of the rear wheel arch lips. Really surprised to find the rear wheel liners did not mask these areas. Also found a build up of road debris at the front leading edge of the rear arches between the outer frame and panel.

I plan to keep this car a long time so given what I’ve found, I feel the sooner I have the underside treated the better chance I have of keeping Mazda’s finest from a early encounter with the dreaded tin worm.

Jeff.

If you want Dinitrol go to their website where they list their approved UK agents, and you’ll find one closer to you than Scotland.  Tamworth would seem the nearest then Oundle, Leicester etc., etc., good luck!

I had my '91 Eunos treated by PCM in Cheltenham today (£300 inc VAT).  Actually it took a couple of days as they allowed the wax to harden a little overnight before refitting the under trays /wheel arch trims.  The guy in charge seems knowledgeable (had owned 5 MX5s) and said they treat around 4 MX5s a month.  They used Dinitrol products and the job seems well done with no evidence of overspray etc.  There is a free inspection after 12 months too.

As I’m ‘local’ I went to see them first and felt they were worth using as they seem genuine and familiar with the cars.  Give them a call…

I’ve just posted about these guys in another thread but I might as well mention them here because it seems relevant:

Preserve and Protect Johnstone, near Glasgow.

Very good service, very thorough, very knowledgable, knows 5s inside out.  Work typically takes about 3 days.  He’s some distance from me so I dropped my car off one weekend and picked it up the next.
