My 2002 1.8 sport is suffering pretty badly from the dreaded rust. The sills need repairing/ replacing badly and I’d like to get it rust proofed. Any recomendations for bodyshops familiar with the MX5. I live near Newcastle Emlyn and would like to get it done in this area if possible, no further East than Carmarthen, so I appreciate it’s quite an ask.
Any ideas on what kind of quotes I should be getting? I can post some pictures if this will help. Also how much would a full respray in the original colour cost?

Regarding rustproofing, guy on Pistonheads web site shows how easy it is TDY!
This was a Mk1, but I expect yours will be similar.
Check Mx5 heaven, Autolink and Mx heaven sites as they might have replacement sills and I am sure someone will soon be along to give even better advice.

Thanks Dowot. I’ve got someone to do the sills, I just need to get some for him. Just the rustproofing left then.
Who did you use? I also live in the area. I’m looking around for someone to check the bodywork before I have it resprayed.

BAA , I have had my MX5 Angels Sills taken back to bare metal and resprayed and the underside Waxoiled twice by Aled Rees of Medway Motors of Crymych excellent job. Very close to you.
