RX-8 Wiper switch for NC

I’m looking to change my wiper switch on my 2008 NC 2.0l as per the article in the February 2023 STHT.

However, an ebay search produces lots of suppliers (in China only!) of a switch with part number J13K359A, which is not the item detailed in the article. That is part number GJ6A-66-128.

A Google search for that latter switch turns up only one supplier with only 1, 1 star review of their switch. The buyer said that the switch did not turn on the wipers at the INT position, only on 1 or 2 :thinking:

Am I OK to use the J13K359A switch?

I, and many others, have successfully used this switch from eBay.

(If you go down the route of a second-hand switch, make sure that it’s not one designed for a car with a rear wiper).

Thanks for swift reply Philip, most helpful. That’s the one I see too.

I might look at a second-hand switch as there is apparently a dealer in MX-5 spares close to me (Prestige Spares UK at Empingham) which I intend to go check out soon, but he may well not have anything RX-8.

It allows you to adjust the intermittency speed of the wipers.

I find it really useful and was one of the first changes I made.

I changed to the RX8 stalk many moons ago, bought off eBay. My chum bought one of the Chinese ones nearly three years ago and it’s been perfect so far and for not a lot of money.

You are not far from me, I’m in Oakham. I believe prestige only do mk2 parts but you never know your luck. I have a mazda 6 one you can have if you want to pick it up. It does have a rear wiper graphic on it, it was so cheap at the time I couldn’t resist but have since bought an eBay one. I would say the relay click sound is much louder on the eBay one though.

I have fitted one
It only takes afew minutes
It looks100% oem and works a treat.

I got mine from an RX-8 being broken on eBay, for what it’s worth.

Also from eBay, also swaped it out again when I changed to a newer NC
