safe sunglasses position

hji everyone,  apart from dash and tunnel bins, has anyone got a safe easy access to a sunglasses position in an MX5, or is there a conveneient holder,  i ask because = who managed to stamp on a nice pair of ( sunglasses ), in the footwell of my Mx 5 .

In the 2.5 the armrest there is room, plus someone gave me a clip on gadget for the visor which which holds glasses. I have used an elastic band around the visor before.

I have one pair in the rear hold of the console, in case I forget to bring a proper pair.

Otherwise, when not “in use” the glasses tend to hang from the collar of my shirt or rest on the top of my head. And I never remember where I left them last… Confused

Head

If wearing cap and don’t require them ‘on’ then on top of cap

Useful as a hairband, too Wink
I walk in to ‘clients’ houses after midnight forgetting i have them perched up there until it illicits a smile and glance to my bonce
I rarely lose them
Goodness knows what’ll happen when i eventually need sight glasses

My 2.5 S-VT had a built in wind blocker behind the seats which was pretty rubbish but it had a net that ran along the front of it.  I assume they were integral to each other but the net was great for holding stuff and hanging glasses from.  One of the main things I miss now I have a Mk1

Further to my previous post,I’ve just seen one advertised for sale on the forum!

You maybe able to see the teddys on my dash (avatar photo)…they are stood in the cup holder the previous owner stuck there & I hook my sunglasses on it as well…just need to be careful if parked up in sun as they can get rather hot!

Bob i was going to say you can fit one of those windblockers to a MK1. You will probably need to drill one hole each side though to fix it properly.

No use to the OP but for anyone with a MK1 the best place for sunglasses is to replace the ashtray with a lined sunglasses holder. Often come up on Ebay.

I keep mine in a cloth specs bag that hangs on the cigarette lighter.

Mine’s still doing sterling service mate

How about getting a good quality glasses case from an opticians and when not wearing your expensive sunglasses, put them inside the case and then put it in the glovebox, it will be as safe as Fort Knox for them in there Don't know

What the hell do you do for a living calling on “clients” after midnight wearing dark glasses ?

Not really a problem in Northumberland as we don’t get that much sun, I envy those that have to think about it Wink

Update - It’s pouring down outside agian, so much for summer, can you remember a thread someone started called something like “It’s too hot” seems like years ago!

The mind BOGGLES.

Back to the OP, I wear wraparound sunglasses over my prescription glasses which does mean they are a bit bulky. Storage can be a bit of an issued as I always carry a spare set of prescrition glasses as well so they are both in cases in the centre consol. That said the wraparound are normaly to be found pushed up on my head as you never know when the sun will shine.

i could let this run and run but

Thumbs up
