Well, if you’re not making the journey down to Falmouth and find yourself at a loose end on Saturday morning, why not start the day with some armchair supporting of the Armed Forces Muster and Parade in honour of the Queens Diamond Jubilee Celebrations. 3000 troops from all three Sevices will parade at Windsor Castle in front of Her Majesty, whilst a flypast will salute her from above.
At 11:20 and 26 seconds (if I get my timings right
) one of these will be carrying me over Winsor Castle as no6 of an 80-odd aircraft flypast, actually not the best photo, the one I’ll be flying has skids but you get the idea!
I’ll be waving

If all goes according to plan, I’ll be at the Lost Gardens of Heligan, but thanks to Sky+ I’ll be watching out for you. Is it too sad to wave back at the TV? Hope it all goes well.
Bruce, TBH, when the task came in and I had to look at crewing it, I was strung between a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity against the Spring Rally.
Having met the SR organising team at last years AGM and AC mtg, I really wanted to support them (a lovely bunch).
But in the end, I had to go with the fly-past.
See you on Sky+
Hopefully, none of the pilots involved will be holding it against the Matlow who yacked Baileys into his bunk on the Lusty a couple of weeks ago. Not sure if it was a Fleet Air Arm pilot or not; could have been RAF or Army, as all three services were flying off the ship.
Just spare a thought for the lads and lasses giving up their day off for not very glamerous work at some Air Station.
I love flypasts, more often than not we get to see those that fly down the Mall on royal occasions, we’re 65 miles away but still directly under the flight path. Can bring a tear to the eye, especially when the Red Arrows zoom over…
What better than watching than to take part, fantastic. Proud moment for you JE, enjoy it…
I’m looking forward to meeting people I only know through the forums; my list is reduced by one! I hope that owners who come to Cornwall for the Rally will enjoy not just the day itself but the county’s other attractions, and that they’ll want to come back. For those who can’t make it, come when you get the chance. You won’t regret it.
(I have no connection with the Cornwall Tourist Board!)
