Scotland's finest

A836 from Tongue down to Tain, what a road ! This is an absolute must if visiting John O 'Groats.

Agreed.  Did this run in March this year, clear road and snow on the tops of the hills; breathtaking!  If you’re from the South and you’re going that far North, then try and do all the roads North, North West and West of Lairg.  All are single track roads, loads of passing places and scenery to die for, especially the North West Coast routes.

A93 through the Cairngorms is amazing.

Had a nice run down the A714 from Girvan to Newton Stewart recently.
Some awesome stretches on that round and very nice in the MX-5!!!

Going to Fort William for three nights hope to do the Applecross route any others for me,cheers Rob.

Sorry - thinking of something else entirely under this heading . . .

From Fort William, try up to Mallaig on the A830, then on the way back turn off at Lochailort on to the A861 to Coran Ferry. Halfway along the A861 you could take a run out to Ardnamurchan Point (Salen B8007), quiet single track road.

That’s some great roads. Will be up there in September.  The road along the side of Loch Sunart is great.

Just simply the A82 and A87 from Fort William to Skye is fantastic.

I’ll agree totally with the A830, 40 miles there and 40 miles back, on a proper driving road, not one of your single track jobbies where you can’t get up any speed!

Hey look were we went last Sat 20 June a long way but glad to do it, also the Applecross Run roof down going up, roof up on the top, also  a great trip to tick off 1992 Eunos V Spec did 2000kms without missing a beat, what could be nicer(than a Pendiltons Twicer)for all those of a certain age will remember that advert, Cheers Rob.
