I have a V-Spec NA (1992) and the seats are starting to look decidedly worn - stitching breaking, speaker perforations ripping etc. I can get them re-trimmed locally but at a cost for a decent job.
What are the options are regards replacing the covers themselves ? I have seen some done online but the fit did not look great and lots of them had wrinkles which did not look too enticing.
Seat covers are always going to look like seat covers. IKf you look at the American sites, they have probably more options in this respect, eg Moss’s US owner.
To get good fit, what you refer to as covers is a bit more than that, involving hogrings etc. Autolinkuk do factory-grade reupholstery, and have redone seats in stock. Also contact PM Sportscars; they might be able to offer you an option in leatherette, which might be cheaper. I think Autolink’s seats are good value.
Thanks Saz. When I stated seat covers, I was referring to the type that replace the actual material as opposed to over covers. The Autolink items do indeed look to be of a good standard alright. Thanks for the link !
I am just thinking though, by the time I would have these complete seats shipped to Ireland, it might be a costly affair !! Still, I may have to do just that if it comes to it.
