Been thinking about a soft top for next year and as my brother has a MG TF so had a go, but the top part of the screen was right where my eye line
was so it would land up being a pain in the neck (short legs, long body ?) and as yet not found anyone with a MX5 (which I think
is a better car) to try, can anyone tell me if the seats have any adjustment height wise or any kits to lower them.

Which model are you looking at? My 02 reg mk2.5 didn’t have seat adjustment but my 14 reg mk3.75 does - I have it set at the bottom. I’m 6’5" and haven’t had an issue with either visibility or height wise.
Worth mentioning though, when I ordered the current one, I thought I was after another soft top but when I test drive one it found there to be less headroom than in the hard top. Hence I bought a hardtop. May be a case of different ergonomics for different people thougj

It sounds like the MX 5 may well fit me if you are 6’5’’ with no problem with visibility,

A friend of mine has a mk1 and he is 6’4" and has no problems even without adjustment. Maybe someone here might be nearby and let you have a try…
Many years ago when we were looking at buying our first sports car, I sat in a MGF and had exactly the same issue - the top of the windscreen was in my eyeline.
No such issues with the MX-5 and we are now on our fourth, having had a Mk2, Mk2.5 and two Mk3s. I have also driven a couple of MK1s without any problems.
