I’ve a 2007 NC1 soft top option pack and would really like some leather seats. I’ve seen some on ebay from a 2012 NC2 and am wondering whether these will fit and whether the relevant plugs will be the same? Obviously the heating element will not work but I am hoping the airbag plug will be the same.
Any ideas anyone?

These look really nice but a bit out of my price range - The second hand ones I was looking at are about £400.

I believe they would be the same from the point of view of rails/fixings etc.
It is likely the airbag plug will be the same, can you ask the seller to send a close up photo of the plug.
The NC1 may have the wiring loom for the seat heaters just not connected, may be that all you need is the console switches to replace the blanks.
Certainly when I fitted the heated seat elements to my car ( same model/year) the wiring and plugs at the dash end were already in place? Quite possible they are at the seat end too? I just fitted the new loom, switches, plugs etc that came with the kit and I’d nothing to compare with in terms of OEM plug compatibility? Worth checking out though?

I seem to remember from previous such queries that the NC1 heated seats are off/on whereas NC2 is variable heat so different
switches/wiring?
There is also a weight detector in the seats.
I thought it is only in the passenger seat?
The reason being i have had my driver’s seat in and out a few times to sort out the squeak and the workshop manual only advised a recalibation of a sensor if the passenger seat was removed… There was no mention of needing to recalibrate the driver seat in the instructions.
I may be wrong though!
