Securing footwell carpets in a Mk3.75

I have a set of footwell carpets in my NC 3.75 that came with the car that aren’t secured to the floor. There are holes in the carpet for securing them to the floor but the floor of the footwells have no holes for the clips. There is areas on the factory fitted carpet that is obviously the place where the footwell carpets fit but no holes under these areas to receive the clip.
How does one secure these footwell carpets to the floor?

There are 2 black plastic clips that slot in the cut holes and you end up with the peg showing that locks into the carpets. If you local dealer doesn’t have them, my old employer did have them. Call 01256 355221 and ask for Mark in parts. He has supplied me them in the past.

So the footwell carpets fit with clips to the factory fitted carpet. Is that what you are saying?

On the mats there are 2 plastic donut shaped fittings with a 12 mm hole in the middle.
On the footwell carpet there are 2 plastic rectangular plates approx 30mm x 56mm with a 12.5mm diameter peg which sticks up and engages in the donut holes on the mats. The top of the peg sits flush with the top of the hole when mats are fitted.
Presume there is a plastic part under the footwell carpet which clips on to the rectangle section from underneath to hold it.

Oh no there isn’t sorry

Thanks Captain Haddock
Two problems I cut the carpet to find a hole to put the clip into so those clips won’t work.
I bought a set of different clips.
So its going to have to be that I fashion something to take my purchsed clips.
