My model of MX-5 is: 96 Eunos
Hello, I have just had two new side mirrors sprayed and ready to be assembled. I would like some guidance on the assembly of these mirrors as there are a few pieces that I’m not too sure on.
For the white casing, will I need to remove the large rectangular piece that is sticking out the bottom?
Am I right in thinking the foam piece on the right can have the white film removed so that it adheres to the body of the car? I’m also not entirely sure where I put the piece of foam with the three white strips on.
What is the order of assembly for these components? Want to make sure I don’t put anything together incorrectly.

The foam strips go in the mirror casing to stop the mirror glass rattling.

Ah I see! Would you recommend attaching them to the casing or to the mirror? The inside of my casing looks like this:
If they go inside the casing, whereabouts would you attach each strip?

I think they go on the casing on those ribs you can see
Cheers. Don’t suppose you know what I should do with the white casing that clips to the body of the car? It needs filing / cutting off, right?

I would think so, unless you want to cut a slot in the door
