Little things bug me more than big things! Why is my avatar sideways? Please HELP!
Probably because of the orientation of the camera used to take the photo.
I would say this, the forum software uses the exif information within the image file:

Happens with camera phones sometimes. Try opening the image in photo editing software, rotate by 90° and save as a new file, then upload again.
And by a miracle of technology it’s fixed
