Silencer delete

  1. My model of MX-5 is: __2.0 option pack 2008
  2. I’m based near: Hull__
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __silencer delete.
    Looking to replace the mid section silencer with a straight through race tube, would this affect efficiency and performance and also would it have any adverse affect on the engine due to reduction in back pressure, back box will not be removed, any advice would be much appreciated.

It’s going to help engine breathe , maybe a couple of ponies extra , be louder and efficiency depends on whether or not you like the new exhaust note which then may make your right foot press harder :+1:

Anything behind the cat is going to make negligable power benefit . More noise , yes , but the centre silencer is a resonator , so may drone more when driving.

Thanks all for the replies, it looks like the sound would be the major change (which i fully expected) but there’s louder and then there’s LOUDER, which is against my religion, going to leave as is for now and have a re think.
