Skills Day with IAM

  1. My model of MX-5 is: 2018 RF 2l
  2. I’m based near: Falkirk
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: I am looking for insurance advice. The Institute of Advanced Motorists are doing skills days. These are on a track but not considered a track day. My insurance company wont cover private roads and im not sure i dont want to not be covered. Any advice?? The IAM give a cover letter to explain its training but Direct Line werent interested.

I do not think any standard insurance will cover you. If you want any insurance you need a specific ‘track day’ one.
The IAM one is very ‘controlled’ so the chances of an incident are minimal. If you are concerned then the IAM should be able to tell you, historically, if there had been an incidents.
As an example the MX-5 club organise training days at Curborough which is not normally covered by your car insurance.
