  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __Getting some Oil

My oil change has been due for a little while now. I’ve been keeping an eye over on MX5parts for stock availability of the OEM Skyactive 0W20 Supra-X. But showing no signs of it coming back in stock.

I’m anticipating members suggesting just going with an alternative, but besides that, are there any lesser known retailers I maybe overlooking. Or does anyone here have any spare? I’ve called the parts dept at my local dealer, it’s not something they supply.

Why not ring MX5 parts and ask them when they anticipate that it will be back in stock.

Most Mazda dealers do not use Mazda oil so it is not crucial to use it.

Sorry, forgot to add, I did call MX5Parts who couldn’t say when they would expect to get it back in stock. That was probably a month ago now.

Suzuki Swifts & other models use their “brand” of 0-20 so I’d anticipate they’d have it in stock for regular servicing. £42.00 for 4 litrs. I’m advised never to go 5-30 with our new Swift Sport later in life when our free services are over. Summat to do with turbo bearings…

A number of oil companies have started supplying 0W-20 oils. However I am not certain which of the vehicle manufacturers specs are suitable for a non turbo petrol engine with chain driven camshafts although they all seem to be ACEA C5 or SN

There’s a few on ebay. A bit pricy though, I think.
