Slim/ reduced front number plate plinth suggestions - NC

Hi all,

Asking in preparation for ordering a private plate. My front plate plinth looks and feels quite large. Theres a load of spare plinth that the current reg plate doesn’t cover.

Are there slimline alternatives? I looked at the JDM style but can see it would require filling and respraying the front bumper, which I have don’t have any interest in doing.

On my old MK3 I just screwed the plate to bumper without a plinth, the 2 x small bungs weren’t too bad against the dark colour. If I remember rightly the other large holes were covered by the plate

Is your plate a standard UK size ?

You can just do away with the plinth as long as your plate covers the old holes…

Standard UK font, and legal 5 character spacing. I went slightly smaller on the RS Ltd

and the MK2.5 before personalised plate was slimmer

Yes, I tried sticking with full size and plinth, it was bad…

I jst dumped the plinth altogether and used a slimline stick-on plate (add lightness ans simplify!)
