Snake oil spark plugs?

  1. My model of MX-5 is: __93 1840cc
  2. I’m based near: __Stirling
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __spark plugs

Just a quicky chaps.
Last time I bothered about multi electrode plugs was my Monza 3ltr turbo.
They were recommended for some reason by Courteney.
Has anyone ever tried them in a 5 ?
Let’s face it, my standard mill ( albeit in full rude health) is an low tech “nail” with a very broadband ECU by NC & ND levels.
Standard NGKs…or?

My understanding is that multi electrode plugs make little difference.
However, iridium plugs will tolerate a larger gap and thus give a fatter spark, which improves throttle response.
They come pre set to a larger gap than conventional plugs but should tolerate even more.
No more outright power but improved throttle response is worth having.
I believe they come as standard in the later motors but their long life probably has a lot to do with that.

Appreciated your reply!
TBH, I had a set of unused NGK’s “in stock” as you do…so in they went.
Took it for a ten mile “test” and did notice it ticked over a couple of hundred up…so there we go.
Certainly, the expensive Millers oil now in the sump has pretty much rendered tick over virtually silent from the cockpit, but the oil we dropped was only 3k in miles but 2 years old…or one year more than I allow but we know why. Popped on new OEM plug leads recently, and shook the dust out the K&N so the sum total of all the tweaks seems to make for a very happy little engine.
Which…is about to suck in a bit of cool mountain air in about an hour or so.
