Snow is here! as are the Winter tyres

Okay, thanks for explaining. Makes sense.

I checked current tyres - Bridgestone Potenza S001, about 18 months old /4k miles. 205/45/17

I looked up reviews on these and hey were very mixed, but I think these are essentially summer tyres, yes?

So should I ditch them for all-weather, or swap them out with Winter ones?

They are in good nick and I’ve had no issues in heavy rain etc. I got the car in July so not been any winter weather till now.

What dyou think?

If it were me I’d pick up a second set of wheels and fit either AllSeasons or winters to them. Then use the set with the Potenzas on it , during the spring/summer.

That’s what I’m thinking too. Thanks for all your help. Away to source some smaller wheels…

Any tips? Guide price?

Thanks again.

You could have a look in the buy & sell section here. As well as eBay & FB groups too.

For example, this set could be ideal for what you have in mind :+1:t3:

Thank you - I’ll have a search and see if I can find some a bit more local :+1:.

Really appreciate all your help as I really don’t know this kind of stuff (if that wasn’t blatantly obvious :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:)

I do love this forum - always someone willing to offer advice :heart:

Hi. I have a set of 195/55/16 Nokian WR D4 tyres on steel wheels for sale. £55 on ebay/Facebook at moment but as a fellow member, you can have them for £40 if interested. 4mm tread on each tyre, still work well. Steel rims are a bit rusty but everything balanced and working. Ready to use. Wheel trims included to keep everything looking pretty! I’m in Glenrothes, so still a bit of a drive for you. These were off my 2010 NC, worked great in the winter but have a new set of alloys with Michelin Cross Climate 2’s on now so these are just taking up space.
