Snowdonia Road Trip

Just back from a week in Snowdonia North Wales.

Before we set off i lowered the suspension (with the help of Mrs BRGs entire wardrobe)  Confused

If there are better driving roads than Llanberis Pass, Horseshoe Pass & the LLanberis to Beddgelert road i`ve yet to find them.

Covered about 1000 miles all in & visited all the usual suspects. Snowdon, Conwy, Caernarfon, Swallow Falls, Anglesey etc etc.

Stayed at a cottage recommended by Rossi on MX5Nutz…First class  Thumbs up

Went to Anglesey & parked next to the opposition.

Off to the Ponderosa Cafe on Horseshoe Pass

Then Portmeiriom (very interesting if you`re old enough to remember the TV series The Prisoner)

That`s easy for you to say

Few more pics. Well worth the trip if you havn`t done it before

Only downside was my Ipod completely died half way there, so if anyone has a spare one doing nothing all donations gratefully recieved  Wink

i’m glad you enjoyed my part of the world, (i live about 3 miles from Llanberis, in a place called Rhiwlas), i’ve drive “down the pass” many times intollanberis, you should have tried the llanberis - capel curig - betws y coed - blenau ffestiniog- aberystwyth, one hell of a drive, but worth it

Went to most of those places & many more. First trip to Wales for about 20 years when kids were little so we enjoyed visiting old haunts & a few new ones.

The place where you parked next to the MR2 was Beaumaris, I lived there from age 8 til joining the RAF at 16. The building to the right hand side with the flag is the Royal Anglesey Yacht Club, and you can just see a bit of the castle on the right of the RAYC building. Very happy memories of Beaumaris—

Spot on Geoff. We had a wander round the castle & a drive round Anglesey that day. Been to Wales a few times but that was our first venture across the bridge.

indeed i can see Beaumaris, Caernarfon, Ogwen Lake (pic with the lay-by), Horseshoe Pass, shame you didn’t visit Ty Croes (the race track used on 5th gear) by Holyhead

looks like you had a great time Dave, Wales is my next trip for my little car when i get round to having a week spare.

your car is looking good with the back drop of amazing views. The little cottage looks great il have to remember to ask you where it is when i go.Smile

Cottage is in Y felinheli, near Bangor, North Wales.

There is a choice of 3 converted farm buildings. Done to an excellent standard with all mod cons & great views.

The owner is a friend of Rossi (Fell At The Last) on Nutz who recommended it to me.

These are they!

Great pictures. I love North Wales, and live near Chester, so regularly go for adventures into North Wales in the car or one the motorbike. I’m camping on Anglesey next weekend, but sadly i’ll be in my MG ZT V6 due to all my camping gear…

Still, cant wait all the same.
