Jane is very excited. We rescued and kept a couple of donkeys many years ago and she still has a soft spot for them.
Looking forward to meeting you all.
Hi
Maybe a bit late now, but just to say we won’t be able to make it today. Nigel and Linda
Hi Nigel & Linda sorry you can’t make it today thanks for letting us know .Patricia & John .
First of all a very big thank you to the Solent Members who made a wonderful contribution to the Hayling Island Donkey Sanctury, I was able to pass onto Phill Upshall AKA ‘Phillyboy’ £80, and we were given a certificate in recognition of the wonderful effort (see photos in this thread.)
Well, the day started at 09:50 with 14 members meeting at the Northney Farm Tea Rooms for breakfast, the chat and banter lasted through to 12:00 when 5 more members joined us for the short journey to the Donkey Sanctury.
Once all 10 cars arrived we were greeted by ‘Phillyboy’ who arranged the visit, Phill is a volunteer at the sanctury, we then were guided to our reserved parking area’s, then went on to hear Phill give a talk on what they do, currently they have 26 donkeys to care for, so the wonderful contribution by the Solent Members was gratfully received., booking to visit was essential and our visit was booked for 12:30, as they have many visitiors over the days they are open (see website link), and so to the taster photos of the day. Again Patricia and I would like to thank the following members who made the day go so well. they are Judy & Tony, Josie & Brian, Ron & Angela, Bob & Val, Julie & Denise, Jayson & Toni, Tony & Jane, Sandra & kevin, and we must not forget Colin and ‘Blue’ his new dog, as some of you are aware Colin recently lost his beloved dog ‘Whysi’
Brilliant, well done Patricia & John on leading this one. It looks like Solent Area had a great time and we are delighted to see the grand total our group raised for the Donkeys👍
I will endeavour to get an article into the next edition of STHT😉
