Hi Everyone,

Just a quick reminder that the IOW Classic Car Show will soon be upon us and if you want one of the 15 tickets I have, of which 12 are available, then please reply to this post soonest.

Also, dont forget to book your ferry crossing using the MX5OC discount code (MAZDAOWNERS15) not fogetting you will be sked for your MX5OC Membership Number to be able to get the discount :wink:

Best Regards

Mal

Dear All,

I still have 12 tickets left for the IOW Classic Car Show and I realise its still a little way off but to save dissapointment, please let me know if you would like me to reserve a ticket for you, as “once they are gone, they are gone” as the saying goes :wink:

Best Regards

Mal

Is the ferry just from Southampton?

Hi Josie,

Either Southampton or Lymington as its Red Funnel. Wightlink didn’t want to entertain a discount for us🙄

Regards

Mal

HI Everyone,

We are just giving this one another push, as we still have discounted tickets available at £5/car (reduced from £7.50/car for MX5OC members) for this event.

Full details can be seen at the link given below;

Please email: solent@mx5oc.co.uk to reserve your ticket and pay me cash next time you see me.

As usual, a list attendees thus far, is given in Post #1 :+1:

Hi Everyone,

I was at the IOW Wight Wheels Event yesterday (30th June) with Jeff and Gavin (IOW AC’s) and they asked how the tickets were going for this event.

I said, three tickets out of the 15 tickets I have had been sold and I had given it another push on this forum thread but would give it another push. So here goes,;

If you have not got your tickets yet and would like to take advantage of the discounted ticket price, please email solent@mx5oc.co.uk to reserve your tickets and pay me via PayPal - remebering to select paying friend or family :wink:

Best Regards

Mal

Hi Josie,

Are you able to come along to this one, as it would be good to have you and Brian join us on the island?

Regards

Mal

I don’t think so Mal, sorry.

Many thanks for letting me know. I just didn’t want you and Brian to miss out, as it was good to see you both at Caffeine & Machine. :wink:

Hi Everyone,

We are giving this one another push, as the date for this event is now fast approaching (7th & 8th September) and Jeff & Gavin (IOW AC’s) require to know numbers, so they can inform the organisers for our MX5OC stand allocation purposes.

For info, you can do both days, or just do either the Saturday or the Sunday, depending on your availability :thinking:

So far, we have only two cars attending, Serena and myself, plus Diane & Terry, as per the list in Post#1 of this thread.

Please confirm your attendance soonest, as it promises to be a great MX-5 weekend on the Island and I still have discounted tickets available :+1:

My post on the 23rd May, also provides details on the Red Funnel Ferry Discount for either the Southampton/East Cowes crossing, or Lymington/Yarmouth Crossing!

Best Regards

Mal

Hi Everyone,

I have had a “telecon” with Jeff this morning and confirmed more details for the IOW Classic Car Show, as given below;

Times to be on site: 10am to 4pm but Jeff is confirming this with Paddy the organiser and will update us. But for info, the current plan is that they are reverting back to the original format of two sites; Newport Saturday and Ryde Sunday.

a) On the Saturday at Newport Town Quay; IOW Classic Car Show from 10 am to 4pm.
NB: The site will be a “static site”, with no car movements between these times but it may be possible to get out with assistance from a Marshall earlier!

On Sunday members can either;

a) Meet for Breakfast at The Dairyman’s Daughter, Arreton from 09:30 onwards and the group will leave the Dairymans Daughter 10:30 or just after and drive around the East side of Island, dropping in for Lunch at The Wight Mouse at about 1:30pm. The drive will then continue after lunch and finish at Town Quay, Newport.
NB: The Wight Mouse has asked for Pre-Orders by Sunday 1st September and the menu can be found at; The Wight Mouse Inn | Isle of Wight
Please note that: If you do not pre-order your lunch, you can order on the day at the bar but it will take longer, as the pub is a major venue on the island and as such gets very busy :smile:

or

b) There is the option of visiting the second day of IOW Classic Car Show at Ryde Seafront on the Sunday. Last year (2023) there were approx 600 to 650 cars on show of various makes models and origins at Ryde Esplanade! :grinning:

NB: You will need your Vehicle Pass to access the shows on both days and I have currently sold four passes, as shown in Post #1

I do have more passes available and payment can be made to me via PayPal.

If any further information comes to light, I will update this thread accordingly.

Best Regards

Mal
