And they reason that if you make a claim (a claim is a claim to them) you’re more likely to make another within the next two years and load your policy.

2 years? So why do they ask if you’ve made a claim within the last 5?

I don’t know…I’m just saying that insurance companies reason that you’re more than likely to make a second claim within two years of making a claim. I can’t answer why any or all insurance companies ask if you’ve made a claim in x number of years, I don’t work in that industry.

Same happened to my wife’s Kodiaq, the glass is £324 but the overtaking alert no longer worked and linked to the reversing sensor was about to cause problems so £900 for a new mirror. Apparently same unit on Porsche Suvs over £2000.00, ouch.
