As all I’ve done so far is persistently post questions, I figured I’d give you folks something to look at to help visualise 
First replacing the horrible old brakes.
Then inspect belts, cam gasket and the rest of the engine bay.
Finally, with a bit of sun I managed to get the top down for a quick drive. Much fun!
