Something to jog memories for us old bikers

We were up at Chelsea Bridge Fri and Sat nights regularly during the mid to late 70s, I always liked the pies, bikers would shoot down to the roundabout on the Wandsworth side, and come blasting up the long straight road ,past the tea hut, and have to stop in time for the traffic lights on the other side of Chelsea bridge :grimacing:
They used to hold a car cruise there as well, I went passed the new tea hut about a year ago for the first time in decades and its still there, :grinning: and where the old council /railway yards were, there are now apartment blocks all the way down to the roundabout, and ten times the amount of traffic, pretty much the same everywhere now :worried:

It was more the mid 80’s for me right through until they stopped us going there as they started to redevelop the area we had some good nights up there

My last bike, a 1970 Triumph Trophy TR6 650cc, basically a single carb Bonneville. Flogged to a mate about 5 years ago when the maintenance became more of a chore than I was willing to undertake. But he still lets me ride it. Occasionally.

A nice looking example, some of these old bikes sound nice too , they always remind me of my childhood .

Thats the model I chopped in for the A10 RGS I mentioned a while back? Coming from a pre unit 6t to the unit construction model was a big leap forward for me but then backwards again to the BSA!

Great thread.

There seems to be a lot of bikers that also own MX5’s.

Here’s my hinckley machine. Probably my favourite to date. I’ve owner a few older bikes but I prefer the newer stuff as they are a lot faster but also a lot safer.

Cars I’m the opposite as you just don’t get that connection with the newer one’s like you do in my old mx5. I will get a classic bike though :crossed_fingers: just for those little short trips to country pubs etc…

Ah the Street Triple 675. Great bikes, a bit more nimble than my heavier Speed Triple.

The MX5 of the bike world :slightly_smiling_face:

I gave up biking about 15 years ago, and my first MX5 was effectively a bike substitute. I had too many bikes to put them all on here, but here are a few of my favourites.

BMW K75S

HD ElectraGlide Standard

Honda PC800 Pacific Coast

Here is my dream bike, it’s my GSXR1000R, had it for 6 years, let her go about 5 years ago and even now I’m not sure why. I think I felt every car driver was trying to kill me! Have got a GSX750F now, which i got a couple of years ago, mentioned earlieŕ, but i would have another gixxer in a heartbeat!
