I’ve always promised I would have another MX-5 and I’ve been asking lots of questions on here and already had some great advice !
Well today after looking at a lot of cars I’ve done what you shouldn’t do and put a deposit down on a car I haven’t seen !
It’s a 2012 1.8 Venture in grey (Meteor Grey?) with just over 30k miles on it. I am assured it doesn’t have rusty wheel arches and the underneath is ok but I’ll wait until I see it !
It’s from a Mazda dealer so at least there should be no problem getting my deposit back……
I’ll be going to see it on Friday or Saturday ! Look forward to attending some meetings, I’m based in Derby so can easily get to Peak District meets
My next obsession will be upgrading the infotainment system to one with Apple car play……
You may have e already checked MoT history, but pay special attention to dampers as there’s a couple of advisories there, as well as tyre conditions/nail in tyre.
Both may have been resolved with new parts by now, but now is the time to make sure before you’ve handed over any money
All ok so far but I know not to count my chickens……
However, the dealer has just emailed me to say that the mechanics have checked underneath and the sub frame is solid. They are servicing and MOT’ing it and replacing rear brake discs/pads, rear drop links and anti roll bar so that’s really good !
I dont seem to be having much luck - Garage agreed on a price albeit subject to how much they spent on it - up to the day before I travelled they were confident that they could do it at that price only to tell me on the day I was travelling down that they actually couldnt and it was £500 more…
