Sorry if I sound a bit thick, but how do you fit an air filter to an NC?

Just bought a K&N filter for my NC3, and after consulting my Haynes manual, I am none the wiser.

It says undo the two spring clips and hey presto, the filter pops out. Unfortunately not, it looks like you need to remove the air intake pipe behind it to get enough room to prise the plastic casing apart.

So before I burn my Haynes manual, I was wondering if I am missing something, I would be very grateful for any advice

Pop the clips, pull the two halves apart as far as you can and you can just about get the filter out and back in.
It’s not the easiest of tasks as there isn’t much give.

Make sure you fit the filter the right way up.
