Good day all
I have a 2008 MK3 Sport and would like to change the plugs
I have purchased the correct NGK plugs but cannot find any information on how much the spark plug gap should be.
Would appreciate any comments on where I could obtain this information.
My local Mazda dealer said for me to bring it to them and they would change the plugs for £99.00.Mazda UK head office and technical department simply said contact your local dealer.
The NGK spark plug website will tell you the gap. But new NGK plugs are pre set correctly ready to install.
1.3mm is the setting (OK, the specification section of the handbook says 1.25 to 1.35 mm). I put a set of NGK Iridiums in my NC recently. Two were spot on 1.3 but had to adjust a couple as they were not quite right ‘out of the box’. Interestingly the 40,000 mile plugs I removed were still at 1.3mm but being a bit ‘old school’ I still was happier changing after that mileage.
Take care not to overtighten the new plugs.
