Hi I’m after advice on replacing my non Bose main door speakers.

I want the easiest to install and would like to reuse the current speakers covers.

Do I go for 5x7 or 6x9?

JBL GX862… Bought a pair of these and they fit straight onto original screw locations in the door.

My NC1 is also a non Bose system.

Not fitted them fully yet (just a trial fit) as Im busy sound proofing door cards and modifying cards for In-Phase tweeters.

However the JBL’s did come with good reviews.

Expect to pay £75 'ish.

Yup I put jvc in, sound so much better

75. The 69s won’t go in without mods.

8 inch round speakers will go in with a little bit of sawing at the plastic mounts and a spacer. The bose cars simply have less plastic in the door cards. There’s even a line to follow for the cuts.

MX5 parts ones are JVC and fit and work fine… much better than the poor original ones.

JBL GX862… Fitted to original screw locations, no adapter plate needed.
Sound pretty darn good even with original non Bose head unit still in situ

Bought mk1 Ford Focus speaker connectors online for £5 a pair, this enables you to still use original Mazda speaker loom
