Spoiler Removal / Boot Rack

I’ve just made a spur-of-the-moment purchase on eBay and bought a boot-mounted luggage rack for £25 which I’m very happy about. I’ve never been too keen on the spoiler on my mk1 Eunos so reckon I’ll remove it and put the rack on.

Question: how easy is removing the spoiler ? Looks simple enough at first glance… does it leave any marks ? Any advice on sealing the screw-holes that will be left behind ?

Thanks

I use mine with the spoiler still attached. The front legs sit on the rear slam panel. I can still open the boot and have never had any problems. BTW, lip at the back and luggage properly strapped. Many will disagree.

Depends which factory spoiler is fitted; there were at least two types. One will leave 3 holes in the boot, another will leave 1 hole.

There are three mounting holes for the spoiler that I can see, though if the rack looks OK with the spoiler on I might leave it.

If I do take it off, I was thinking of finding some rubber grommet / bung things to plug the holes. I assume these would be watertight enough.
