sport graphite commissioned drawing

just bought the new mx-5 graphite sport and just after we picked the car up we recieved a rather nice black and white hand drawn (print), number 29/500, the number of our car is 161/500. we have been told by mazda that the print is a seperate gesture for all owners of the new graphite sport but buyers will not receive the corresponding number to thier cars number

i was just wandering if anyone needed print number 29/500?

and has anyone got 161/500? it would be nice if we could have the print that matches our car number.

Nice gesture but shockingly bad organisation on Mazda’s part 

500 cars, 500 prints, how difficult can it be to match the two…

There are 500 prints.

It seems that Mazda are giving away the original drawing - from which the prints were made.

I thought they were only giving away one per dealership so you had to be the first one to order, which sadly I wasn’t in Norwich so not expecting to receive one. Will be a nice surprise if I do. Collecting my graphite on the 2nd or 3rd September.

Talking of competitions, I entered the Surprising Drives comp on the Mazda website (still open for entries) to win a drive through Italy in an MX5. Mazda contacted me last week and offered a free track ‘surprising drive’ so I’m off to Silverstone in Sept for a morning that includes tuition, accompanied and solo circuits - and lunch! Great chance to try out the MX 5 and get some driving tips too - never driven over 90mph before, so this will be an experience!

in the letter it says there are 500 prints made and i just read that 300 have been inserted into this months evo mag so it seems you may be right about not everyone getting one.

 

they also sent me the same print but without the signature of the artist and without a number on it

Can you answer a question for me if you have picked up your Sport Graphite - did you get a Jack in the cubby hole in your boot with your car, mine was missing and the dealer tells me they no longer come with the jack. Maybe its another weight reducing ploy! Would be interested to hear.

no jack with mine either but i guess because there is no spare weel there would be no need for one. mine just came with the bottle of tyre weld and an air compressor

Thanks for the reply Stealth. If you don’t get a jack, how do you take the wheels off to wash them Mazda just don’t think it through

I have a 2006 mk3, I looked for the jack tonight (even though we’ve had the car 3 years) to take the wheels off so I could clean them no jack in that either just tyre weld and compressor.

I do have a little pouch that contains wheel brace, security nut socket and towing eyes.
