Spotify Playlists

Hi everyone

What’s the best “Top Down” music I can add to my Spotify playlist for this summer’s fun?

What do you play with your roof down?

IMHO

Bryan Adams - Run to you

IMHO

Best driving track ever

IMHO

Just saying

Did I mention it’s just my opinion?

Planet Earth ll soundtrack by BBC is pretty damn good matey. With the top down on a fine summers day and the CD player blasting that out its great to be in the Mazda.

Good choice Mr Roadie. So many good songs to choose from. I don’t do Spotify so always take a collection of CDs with me for a drive. Mr. Springsteen’'s Born to run takes some beating.

All personal taste of course

Good choice Mr Roadie. I don’t do Spotify so always have a few CDs in the car .

For me,Mr Springsteen’'s Born to run takes some beating.

Hmm, I must still be living in the dark ages.  I had to look up what Spotify is.

I still buy CDs and rip them into my server, and have a bundle of USB sticks with different flavours of music, anything from older Jazz through Blues and Rock and singers to Symphonic.  But no rap, bubblegum or punk.

Currently plugged in are Santana, Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler, Pink Floyd, Chris Rea, Ana Popovic, Eagles, Gary Moore, John O’Leary, Them, early Stones, Sonny Landreth, to name a few on one chip.

Some spooky similarity to my USB collection there. If I had to choose two Gary Moore tracks they would be ‘Still got the blues for you’ and ‘Walking by myself’.

Like you I’ve ripped all my old CDs to hard drive for access around the house and on USB in both cars. one 64Gb USB stick will probably hold as many CDs as would fill an MX-5 boot.

IF I were to play music (CDs) in the car it would be stuff to sing along to such as DooWop, Tamla, Atlantic Soul, if I wanted just one track to get some attention, “Get Rhythm” by Ry Cooder, an album to do the same “Canciones de mi Padre” by Linda Ronstadt.  But as it is I just listen to my tinnitus!

Apologies in advance  but I first read this and thought who are ‘my tinnitus’ ? Not heard of them beforehand, then realised I’d misread it?

You certainly don’t want to hear them 'cos once you do nothing else sounds as it should!

Great name for a band. ‘My Tinnitus’. Got a real ring to it.

Sorry, I’ll get my coat.

Nice selection there. I can relate to most of it.  Likewise. I didn’t have a clue to what “Spotify” is, I initially thought it was a brand of acne cream.

some great suggestions coming in and I’m starting to build my list!!

I have been out with the club on a drive today, attached a picture of my dirty girl!!

Keep the suggestions coming, I needs a few hours worth to take me down to the Spring Rally!

Thanks everyone

^^^^^^Nice car!

Just seen the picture of your lovely car. Obviously there’s one track you should definitely include in your playlist.

The Hawkwind classic, Silver Machine

That is perfect… it’s been added to the playlist… If you go to the Spring Rally and hear that tune… it me!!

There’s always the whole Ace of Spades cd by Motorhead. But take it easy on the right pedal. You don’t want to be hearing anything by The Police

Here’s a couple of motor related tracks for you :-

“2-4-6-8 Motorway” by the Tom Robinson Band,

“Road to Nowhere” by Talking Heads.

If you just want a “powerful” album try “Stand in the Fire” by Warren Zevon.

Not your typical driving music but any MX-5 owner will know where I’m coming from with this one.

Supertramp - Take the long way home.
