We are pleased to be able to announce the dates and venues for the MX-5 Owners Club National Rallies for 2015;

Spring Rally, Saturday April 18th, Oulton Park, Cheshire.

21st National Rally, Sunday September 6th, Kelmarsh Hall, Northamptonshire.

Lots more information in Club magazine Soft Top Hardtop, the next edition arriving with Club members from Monday 13 October. Get those dates in your diary now…

Is this correct? Spring Rally on a Saturday only?

Yes, it is, reasoning behind that will be explained in detail but simply put for now it ties in with other events at the venue that are advantageous to us all.

Equal distance for me, I’m in the middle of both. Even closer than Gaydon was for us.

Track time at Oulton is a must,

It’s a great circuit, brilliant viewing and the hotel is booked already!

I would love to be able offer track time on the circuit for the event, but unfortunately it is not an option on this day.
This is not a Motorsport event for the Club, but the Spring Rally we may have an opportunity for a parade lap on the circuit, but there will be driving opportunities on the handling challenge stage available to members on the day as part of the Rally but, as with all organisations the size of MSV the conversation for the event will continue to evolve well into early next year. I will publish all certain updates in the upcoming Soft Top Hardtop magazines.

Is it just me, or is the 21st National not a ‘Coming of age event’ ?

Are we making this a special event, or just another National Rally?

Thanks for taking the time to respond Iain. I’m a little disappointed, but I fully appreciate that track activity is not the focus for this event, and I’m sure it will be a great day out even without it.

Thanks also for the tip about the MOT date, but unfortunately work commitments get in the way

Spring Rally Oulton Park: I’ll be there & back home Saturday. 

First MX5 Rally I can manage without an over night stay.

Autumn Rally Kelmarsh Hall: I’ve booked into the Sunley Conference Centre

Northampton University (Forward Planning!!) through Late Rooms.com

£37.01 payment on arrival. 

Sunley C C is 10.7 miles south of Kelmarsh Hall close to the A508.

Trying all we can to see what might be able to do, but even with the best will in the world we are not in a position to be able to hire the Oulton track, we are just not able to afford it - you could pretty much run our entire year’s worth of events on the cost for one day of the track.
