stainless brake pipes

Hi has anyone ever fitted the stainless brake hoses supplied from mx5 parts and are they easy to fit? good advice would be appreciated, Ian

If you mean the IL Motorsport ones then they are the best hoses I’ve seen for the NC. I’ve fitted a couple of sets. There was a guide to fitting them in Soft Top Hardtop a few issues back.

I fitted this set from MX5 Parts to my 2006 Mk 3.0 about a month ago using the guide from the magazine mentioned in the post above:

The process was relatively easy and it’s an excellent kit that fits very well. The only issue I had was unscrewing the bolt that holds the union between the hard and soft brake lines to the bracket at the back of the wheel arch on the front brakes. This union is mounted on a flexible metal bracket that is only fixed by one bolt to the chassis and one plastic rivet to a plastic part of the splash guard. It’s very easy to distort if you exert to much torque. My solution was a long breaker bar to undo the bolt whilst a helper kept the bracket in place with mole grips.
