Has anyone bought a stainless system from the above company for their MX5.
I am looking at finally having to do something other than run the welder around the joint on the mid pipe and thought?
Well I have plenty of them, thoughts that is but not many ever work out so just thought I would ask first.
Sorry don’t know them, but the Mx5 parts S/S zorts are very good value for the money, twins look ace but can be load on a Mk 1, single is just right on a mk1, twin for the Mk 2, very nice note.

Hmmm, according to the cybox site they have sold 76 such systems for a 2.5 - 1.8 sport yet I cant find any club member who has bought one, was hoping that maybe a fellow club member from erseyside may have read my posting and have some insider knowledge.
Theres a couple of clips on YouTube and they sound quite throaty.
In these times of austerity the wife says I have to try and save money, well I am trying???
Come on peeps, surely someone has bought one and can comment.
Pass the word
Some research on the old computer and they seem to have some interesting connections with some well known companies so, took the plunge, made an offer and a cat back stainless system is on its way?
So, when it arrives and is fitted will let you know my thoughst etc.
Well finaly took the plunge and the system arrived yesterday and fitted today.
Simple task, well not quite as simple as that, one of the cross bracing bolts would not come loose while all the others did so had to apply a bit of pressure to get the old system off.
New one fitted in no time at all.
The sound is very pleasant, not ear piercing just a nice little growl on pickup and personally, I think its just about right for the car.
May be worth consideration if your wanting a stainless steel system at a reasonbale price. I am quite happy with my purchase
Hi, I have been looking at one of these Cybox systems to get a bit more noise from my newly aquired 2.5, how loud is it? Does it just cover the road noise created by the tyres or is it a lot louder? How did you get on with the oxygen sensor mounted in the mid pipe after the cat?
I’ve just fitted a K&N direct replacement filter and removed the small airbox inlet pipe and replaced it with a duct to draw air from behind the near side headlight. This should be cooler as it is drawing directly from the hole provided in the inner wing. This makes a bit more induction noise which is nice. Air filter and 80mm diameter flexible ram air pipe 500mm long purchased on ebay for approx £50
Thanks Vince
OK, so I took the plunge and bought one. £185 including delivery (they accepted an offer of £170 + £15 delivery). Fitting went very smoothly, a very good fit. I just had to bend a couple of the heat shields on the body in a couple of places to stop the silencer touching and allow for the wiring on the oxygen sensor. I also had to drill a hole in the heat shield to cable tie the oxygen sensor wiring in place to stop it touching the pipe (there is no clamp to hold the wiring as there is on the standard pipe). The exhaust is supplied with clamps but not hanging rubbers or the gasket to the cat. The joints are sleeve joints and will need sealent. I used silicon bathroom sealer…does the job perfectly! My rubbers and the cat gasket were ok so I didn’t need to replace them. I took the support brace and support bar off from under the car. I doubt you could change the exhaust with these in place. An electric impact wrench made this job easier. The same for unbolting the flange joint at the cat and tailpipe. The oxygen sensor also came off of the old pipe without a problem.
I went for the 3 inch round tail pipe. The system seems to be well made and a very good fit. It’s not too loud, just right in my opinion. I will post a clip on you tube is there is enough interest? Hope this helps. Vince.

Sorry folks, been severly distracted in recent months so much so neither of my MX5s have turned a wheel and my computer threw a valve along the way!
I didnt have a problem fitting the system to my 2003 sport, the only problem I had was in trying to remove the bracing to allow access to remove and then replace the system. One of the bolts was so tight it took some extra beef to slacken it off.
The wire for the air sensor was an easy fix, I just drew some of the extra wire back into the car.
All my rubbers fited perfectly and I used exhaust paste to seal the system from the cat back.
Took me less than an hour to do the job and I was well impressed with the overall quality.
As stated, the sound from the 3" pipe is pleasant and not over bearing and in my mind gives a nice gentle burble without attracting too much attention.
So impressed, going to fit one to my lil Eunos.
