Static shocks off the car, 2014 prht with leather

This might sound silly but does anyone get quite a few static shocks from their car? Mine is a 2014 prht with leather and mazda carpet mats, I find that a lot of times sliding into the car but mainly when getting out I’ll get a nasty sting off the drivers sill or door surround. Don’t seem to get it on my other cars so a strange one. :man_shrugging:t2:

Hmm, do you wear different shoes for the prht compared with your other cars?

I ask because I found in the 1980s that my painful static shocks were specifically because of the “tough long-lasting polypropylene soles” in my Dunlop Light Walk trainers (avoid). And the shocks happened with any car.
When I got out a car I needed to take a good firm hold of the ignition key and touch its tip to the ground to discharge the many KV somehow stored in the trainers!

Back in Clarks proper shoes no zaps anywhere.

Normally I always wore the proper shoes to work, but one weekend on shift with those trainers the zaps also happened on a particular carpet floor!

Nearly new, the trainers were packed off to the charity shop. I added a zap-warning note, which the staff thought was very funny and decided to leave on the trainers. Apparently they sold them almost immediately, no doubt to a prankster.
