Oh…pardon me!

Anne Lundon begins her 500-mile circular route around the spectacular north coast of Scotland. From Inverness Castle, to the challenging road heights of Bealach Na Bà, Applecross.

Don’t worry…

Just have passports at hand at The Border, and you’ll get an good exchange rate of 70p Bank of Hingleland to a £1.00 worth of Scots groats.

Only Mx5’s please, or you will be turned back.

I’m sad this isn’t on iPlayer because I’d definitely watch it. The Missus and I want to do the NC500 in August.

In August you will be dinner for the midges

Love bites.

Man up!

Now available in BBC iPlayer, enjoy!

Available now, watched it last night

I just watched it in I-player, and it’s quite good, but boy, oh, boy, she’s right about the midges…!
I got eaten alive several years ago on the West Coast in September, when I did part of that route before it was famous.
Be warned - the midges don’t take prisoners, and repellents don’t work!
My car was splattered with them to the extent I had to get put every few miles to scrape the screen - the washers/wipers just spread them out.
I’d imagine a top-down MX (and its occupants) would be a prime target…! Anybody confirm or deny?

This isn’t a wind up but…

Try Avon Skin So Soft - it does work - not sure if there’s something in it that acts as a replant or it makes your skin oily & the midges “drown” before getting a chance to bite.

We need cold frosty/icey winters - not snow (acts as an insulator) to at least kill some of them off before they mature - warm & wet winter this year so July/August/September will be BAD for you - good for midges though

But all in Scotland (any time) but especially when it’s sunny can’t be beaten
