It’s the tyres.
Remember all those Hollywood movies where the tyres screech in the multi-story car parks? Well it’s mostly dubbed in afterwards to add atmosphere and a sensation of speed.
But we still hear it here if the floor is smooth and clean and the tyres are newish and grippy.
Thanks for the reply but its more of a metallic screetch so defoo not them and I get the noise outside on tarmac etc too (and i could probably do with some new tyres soon ish )
Could be a stone chip trapped between the brake disc and the brake disc shield on one of your front wheels. I have had this on my MX-5s and our Yeti because we have a gravel drive. For some reason the noise always sounds louder when some steering lock is applied.
Have you tried using the brakes when it makes the noise? That would provide some useful info.
I’ll check for stones and the noise when turning doesnt change when braking, the brakes just start making a noise as well.
Have you checked your brake pads? They could be on the wear indicators.
