What is this spring used for? It was scraping on the hub of my steering wheel hence the metal shavings below it.

Is it a contact for the steering wheel controls ?
I believe it is, yes
It’s the contact for the horn push.
Is there anyway of stopping it from scraping?
Little dab of grease? To be fair though it looks proper worn.
